When Things Are Hard

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while.  The last few weeks have been busy with unexpected “duties as assigned.”

Yet another friend is seriously ill (third one this year), and we’re processing that.  My hubby remembered a song, “Jesus, Lover of My Soul,” which had meant a lot to me almost twenty years ago when I had my third heart surgery.  After many prayers for healing, the answer was not the miraculous healing we’d hoped for.  And now, I don’t understand why the many prayers for my hearing to be restored (I’ve lost 60-70% in both ears) have not been answered.

The refrain of the song includes the lines, “It’s not about me, as if You should do things my way.”  It’s not always easy to accept a “Wait,” or “No.”  The answer is to trust the LORD and His method and timing, but sometimes that’s hard.  I believe the LORD understands our pain and struggles during these times.  He asks us to trust Him as He orchestrates everything for our good and His glory.  Am I saying this is easy?  No.  But to paraphrase something I’ve heard (and I’m reminding myself), we can trust the One that bears the nail prints in TrustHis hands.

Listen to the song, and I believe you’ll find comfort and blessing.
