I don’t know of any better way to start the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons than with the words of the psalmist, written almost 3,000 years ago:
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into His presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, He is God!
It is He who made us, [and not we ourselves];
We are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving,
And His courts with praise!
Give thanks to Him; bless His name!
For the Lord is good;
His steadfast love endures forever,
And His faithfulness to all generations.
(Psalms 100)
If we are alive, we have every reason to be thankful to God, our provider. Sometimes we don’t even recognize His activity in our lives, but He is always working.
May our hearts overflow with thankfulness to Him!
