In Just a Moment
In just a moment
Creation became
God breathed out
And time began
The stars and planets
He flung out wide
The mountains rose
The wild sea billowed
He breathed again
And life began
In just a moment
Creation fell
The serpent’s lie
Was wielded too well
Gods crowning glory
Now held in thrall
To redeem his people
He’d give it all
In just a moment
everything changed
Emmanuel, God with us
Stepping down from his heavenly throne
In a lowly stable he was born
The angles sang
The heavens declared
The King of Glory
To Earth had come
He chose to live
As one of us
Our griefs and sorrows
He would share
Our penalty
He would bear
In just a moment
“It’s finished” he cried
Hell’s gates trembled
In our place he died
To all who’d accept
What he had done
Peace with God,
New life he’d won
In just a moment
At dawn’s early light
The stone rolled away
With a mighty crack
From an empty grave
He walked alive
Death’s pow’r was broken
Forevermore
To his father’s side
He rose once more
In just a moment
The sky will part
The clouds will roll,
The mountain split
The Eastern Gate
Will open wide
To receive the King
Of Creation, Eternal One
Every knee will bow
Every tongue confess
That he is King
And Lord of all
